NASA Great Lakes and Midwest regions have experienced unprecedented growth in recent
years. Due to this, we are
always looking to increase our Instructor base. While this
task is not for everyone, there is quite a bit of satisfaction to be gained from sharing
knowledge, insight, and experience.
Our philosophy is one we hope to spread across the nation: To develop a common base, a
standardization of technique and approach that will promote skill building in a safe,
serious, fun environment that fosters creativity, camaraderie, and mutual respect, for
all.
We are looking for experienced, talented drivers who are excellent communicators. NASA
drivers with Group 3, 4, TT and WTW experience, along with advanced drivers from other
clubs, are encouraged to attend.
NASA expects its instructors to be on time to all scheduled meetings for that group. We
expect our instructors to be prompt in meeting Drivers on-grid and to assist in HPDE
Technical Inspection. We expect our instructors to be “fully present” in the car: that
is, fully attentive to the student’s attitude and state of mind, sensitive to the car’s
condition relative to the stresses of the event, mindful of the mission of NASA’s High
Performance Driving Event, and actively promoting the development of skill in a positive
manner.
To achieve this goal, to impart the philosophy and intent of NASA – we provide a
nationally recognized curriculum of training for new and seasoned instructors. Our aim
is build an elite corps of instructors on a foundation of skill and education, providing
an environment of learning and development for potential entrants.
Upon successful completion of a NASA Instructor Clinic, you will be issued a NASA
Instructor Logbook and a NASA Provisional Instructor License with additional rewards
forthcoming relative to commitment and performance.
Instructors are the primary face of NASA, in that “you never get a second chance to make
a first impression”. While instructing is not suited for all, with great responsibility
comes great reward. If you are ready to join the “best and the brightest”, register now
for a NASA Instructor Clinic.
